This readme file accompaies the IEDICT Interlingua-English dictionary project.
The purpose of the IEDICT project is to create an electronic Interlingua-English dictionary in the form of a single Unicode (UTF8) text file with the following format :
"Interlingua : English" (i.e. Interlingua entry, space, colon, space, English definition - one entry per line).
The simple formatting is designed to faciliate the integration of the IEDICT dictionary into other applications (which is highly encouraged).
One of the main purposes of this project is to make a large, comprehensive, and updatable Interlingua-English dictionary available to the public in a wide variety of formats and applications. To this end, IEDICT (Interlingua-English Dictionary) by Paul Denisowski is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Unported License. What this means is that anyone can use, transmit, or modify IEDICT for any purpose, including commercial purposes, as long as the source is properly attributed.
